JOHOR BAHRU, Thursday 25th August: The road from Tun Abdul Razak interchange into Bukit Indah is now open to members of the public in a bid to promote smoother traffic flow during the holiday season.
Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA) Chief Executive Ismail Ibrahim said two lanes on each side will be opened to traffic and this will help disperse traffic for those travelling from Johor Bahru city centre heading towards Bukit Indah, via Danga Bay.
“In view of the anticipated heavy traffic during the festive season, this will contribute towards easing traffic flow,” he said.
With the diversion, traffic from Danga Bay will have an alternative road to go towards Bukit Indah, instead of using Jalan Skudai.
Ismail said the road was a part of the Coastal Highway Project which would be fully completed by early 2012, adding although the road is open to public, there may still be some minor works along the highway.
“I advise all road users to adhere to the speed limit on the roads. On behalf of IRDA, I would like to thank the public from the bottom of my heart. You have truly shown your support for ISKANDAR MALAYSIA through your patience and understanding. “IRDA is committed to complete these projects and to work with key partners and the Government to develop ISKANDAR MALAYSIA into a better living environment for the people,” said Ismail.
Members of the public who would have enquiries or would like to provide feedback on IRDA road projects may do so by calling 1 800 88 3010 or emailing rmk9info@irda.com.my.
