Johor thanks the Federal Government for its unwavering support to further develop Iskandar Malaysia in Budget 2011.

Iskandar will receive RM339mil for infrastructure projects such as construction of highways and improve road connectivity within the 2,217 sq km growth corridor.

Apart from the infrastructure projects, the allocation would also be used to develop housing areas as well as provide and improve transportation services.

Mentri Besar Datuk Abdul Ghani Othman who is the co-chairman of the Iskandar Regional Development Authority with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak said the continuous support reflected the Federal Government’s commitment to ensure the success of Iskandar.

Ghani said the establishment of oil field services and equipment centre in Johor with private investment of RM6bil over a period of 10 years would help to position Johor to be new the regional oil and gas hub.
