ISKANDAR Regional Development Authority (IRDA) and its partners recently presented two cheques totalling RM13,220 to two welfare organisations.

Kelapa Sawit Community-based Rehabilitation Centre and the Handicapped and Mentally Disabled Children's Association Johor Baru each received cheques amounting to RM6,610.

IRDA chief operating officer Hilmi Nashir gave the cheque to Handicapped and Mentally-Disabled Children's Association Johor Baru vice-president S. Murugaiyah and Kelapa Sawit Community-based Rehabilitation Centre treasurer Zaharah Md Yusof at the IRDA office.

Hilmi said the presentation of the cheques bore testament that IRDA and its partners were committed in lending their support towards charitable causes.

"Financial assistance towards a charitable cause should be emulated by all as it brings benefit to the underprivileged, especially children.

"Ensuring progressive development of the community of Iskandar Malaysia has always been an integral element of IRDA's effort to realise the region's vision as a destination to work, live and play," he added.
