Huge boost for Iskandar Johor Open

10 May 2010 , By The Star

The Iskandar Johor Open (IJO) golf championship has received a huge boost from the Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA) after its title sponsorship was extended by another five years.

The dates of this year’s tournament has been brought forward to Oct 14-17 to avoid a clash with the inaugural CIMB Asia Pacific Classic Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur.

Both events were originally scheduled to take place from Oct 28-31.

The organising committee of IJO also said they were working towards a joint sanction agreement with the European Tour from 2011 onwards.
