Former prime minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi will be attending seminars and forums overseas to help draw investment to Malaysia.
"I will leave for China Thursday to attend a forum organised by the Chinese government.
"Thereafter, I will go to Japan for a seminar regarding current issues," he told reporters after the launch of a coffee table book, titled "Pak Lah", at Angkasapuri Wednesday.
Abdullah said he also planned to go to the Middle East for the purpose of promoting investment to this country.
During his tenure as the fifth prime minister, Abdullah introduced Iskandar Malaysia, Northern Corridor Economic Region, East Coast Economic Region, Sabah Development Corridor and Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy.
On the approach taken by his successor, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, Abdullah said it was viable and needed determination and good implementation.
"We need to explain a lot of things to investors about good opportunities in our country and the New Economic Model's approaches," he said.
