Chambers' Efforts To Lure Investors To The State Lauded

03 March 2010 , By BERNAMA

Efforts to lure non-labour intensive investments to Johor by state-level various chambers of commerce and industry is a right step towards alleviating the socio-economic status of the people in the state.

Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Abdul Ghani Othman said bringing in foreign investments to sectors which had high development potential was lauded by the state government as it was also in line with the federal government's aspiration to see other states prosper.

"We welcome their effort to source and lure invesments and they too can invest in the state," he told Chinese New Year gathering organised by the Johor Tiong Hua Chamber of Commerce and Indusry here last night.

He also called on the various state-level chambers to come forward with ideas on how to transform Iskandar Malaysia into a metropolis by 2025.
