The federal government has agreed to partly finance the infrastructure for the 404.69ha Senai Hi-Tech Park.
International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Mustapa Mohamed said the Johor government, through the State Economic Planning Unit (EPU), had applied for a grant amounting to RM300 million from the total cost of RM515 million.
"The federal government has agreed in principle to finance part of the infrastructure cost and we will meet the state and federal EPUs to discuss the matter soon."
He told reporters this after chairing the Joint Industrial Coordination Committee Meeting with the Johor government in Johor Baru yesterday.
Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Abdul Ghani Othman said with the high technology park, more foreign investors will be drawn to the Iskandar Malaysia development region.
